Buckskin & Bone

Buckskin & Bone: For the handcrafted buckskin and bone items, no animal has been used solely for the purpose of making them.  Hides were obtained and bones prepared and made into useful and historic items; thus, like in the days of old, nothing is left to waste.
Talking Stick Talking Stick: A historical item used by many tribes during meetings or gatherings.  They are handmade of pine burl branches. Decorations vary of buckskin, sinew, beads, feathers or furs to make each reproduction of this historical stick unique and one-of-a-kind.  They come in many shapes and sizes.  History is included.
   
Stick Game Stick Game: One of the many traditional games played by all ages in various tribes.  Includes twelve sticks that are cut into 6 in. lengths, a hand-sewn buckskin bag with a buckskin drawstring thong held closed by a bead, two antler or bone pieces, and instructions with a brief history.
   
Bone Awl & Bone Needles Bone Awl and Bone Needles: First Sewing Kit - Bone is hand-worked.  The buckskin holder is hand-sewn with a bone awl and needles using sinew.  The buckskin thong that closes the holder has beads and brass tins.  History is included.
   
Hair Pin or Book marker

Hair Pin or Book Marker: Bone is hand-cut and worked smooth.  Buckskin with beads and brass tins are added.

   
Harvesting Tool

Harvesting Tool: Scapula bones are hand-worked into a smooth herb and grass-cutting tool, with a beaded buckskin wrist thong.  History is included.

   
Hide Fleshing Tools

Hide Fleshing Tools: Bone, hand-cut and worked into hide scraping, or fleshing tools, that are used to prepare a hide for tanning.  Buckskin is added to the end, wrapped with sinew and a leather beaded wrist thong is attached.  History is included.

Items made will not be exactly as those pictured but will be similar in design and materials used.  As in nature, everything is unique and one of a kind; likewise so are these items.
