Order in All Things

Talking Stick
Handmade by Gina Janelli

A talking stick was used during the gathering of tribal members.  The person who held the stick was the only one allowed to speak. When they were finished, they passed the stick onto the next person.  This Talking Stick is made from a branch that had a burl attached.  Each burl has its own shape, so none of the sticks are alike.
